Thursday is a bit early in the week to be in the dog house. Normally I’m not in the dog house unless I arrive home drunk on a Saturday night. This week is different as the Dog House in question is the bar in Wanchai who have been massively generous in their sponsorship of the Hong Kong University Rugby Football Club’s 2015 tour to Seoul, South Korea. It is Thursday 16th April and the HKU ladies and mens teams are arriving for dinner and drinks before heading off to Hong Kong airport to catch a 1.00am flight to Seoul.
Being a University team the purpose of the visit is primarily cultural education and sporting in nature. There will be visits to the Gyeongbokgung Palace and the DMZ, and Rugby games played against local Seoul teams. A couple of the team members may also have a beer or two if they get thirsty.
And so to the Rugby. The first match was the HKU Unicorns Vs the Seoul Sisters…..
Saturday 7th February saw University Rugby Footbal Club face off against Abacus Kowloon, the only team to beat them this season in the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union National League 3. Revenge was sweet for URFC who won a convincing 23-0 and in so doing won the league.
Pictures from the match between Hong Kong University Freshers & CWB Contenders at Shek Kip Mei Sports Ground on Saturday 10th January. A win for the Freshers 19 – 5.
